Welcome to the process. Each guitar is birthed in the selecting of the wood for the body. The complexity and uniqueness of the grains and textures help to determine the finish and design. While we do lead the creative process, we also want input from the artist on what they are wanting in a one of a kind guitar.

Choosing the Wood

Here are some selections that have been recently acquired. All of the guitars are made from natural hardwoods from Middle Tennessee, cut by the time honored tradition found in the old saw mills and naturally aged to preserve the grain.

History and Character

Much of the wood comes from the ranches and farms scattered in Williamson and Maury counties. Some come from country artists that want to see a tree from their property be turned into something more than dust.

Not All Guitars Are Made From Wood

On occasion, there has been an ask for something truly unique. As we are wanting the artist to have something that is one of a kind, we have made some very interesting instruments. This particular one was filled with 1/3 of an ounce of 24 carat gold.

Planning is Everything

Since you normally only get one shot at routing, it is important to always check the placement of everything. Measure twice, then measure again!
